Early Foundations, Lifelong Impact
At Faith Heritage Christian Academy, we believe the early years are not only foundational for academic growth but also critical for language development. Our Pre-K4, Kindergarten, and 1st Grade programs are intentionally designed to nurture the whole child—academically, spiritually, and linguistically—within a warm and Christ-centered environment.
Pre-K4: Building a Bilingual Foundation
The early childhood years are the optimal window for language acquisition. Our Pre-K4 program takes full advantage of this unique stage by immersing students in the Spanish language through songs, stories, play, and daily routines. This natural exposure lays the groundwork for bilingual fluency while also building key early learning skills in literacy, math, and social development.

Kindergarten: Learning Through Discovery
In Kindergarten, students continue to grow in both Spanish language and foundational academics through hands-on, inquiry-based learning. Activities are carefully designed to spark curiosity and deepen understanding as students explore phonics-based reading and writing, numbers and patterns, early science concepts, and social studies. All instruction takes place in a nurturing, Christ-centered environment where faith is woven into every subject.

1st Grade: Expanding Fluency and Confidence
First grade marks the final entry point for our Spanish immersion program and a pivotal year in a child’s academic journey. As students become more fluent in Spanish, they gain confidence in expressing ideas, solving problems, and connecting concepts across subject areas. Core instruction continues in Spanish, with a strong emphasis on reading comprehension, writing development, and critical thinking. Bible lessons, science exploration, and hands-on math encourage young learners to see God’s hand in all areas of life.
Frequently asked questions
What is Spanish immersion education?
Spanish immersion is a method of teaching in which students learn their core subjects—such as math, science, reading, and social studies—in Spanish instead of English. At FHCA, students are immersed in the language naturally throughout the school day, allowing them to acquire Spanish in the same way they learned their first language—through meaningful, consistent exposure.
Will my child fall behind in English?
No. Research shows that immersion students perform as well or better in English language skills over time. While early instruction is in Spanish, English reading and writing skills naturally develop and are formally introduced later. Students become proficient in both languages without sacrificing academic achievement.
What are the benefits of Spanish immersion?
Bilingualism offers lifelong advantages including:
Enhanced cognitive flexibility and problem-solving
Increased cultural awareness and empathy
Better performance on standardized tests
Improved memory and multitasking skills
Greater opportunities for college admissions and future careers
Do I need to speak Spanish at home for my child to succeed?
No. Most families in our program are English-speaking only. Our teachers are specially trained to support students with no prior Spanish exposure. Your child will thrive in our immersive, supportive environment—regardless of your home language.
What is the ideal age to start immersion education?
The earlier, the better. Young children have a remarkable ability to absorb language, and Pre-K through 1st grade is considered the optimal window for language learning. At FHCA, 1st grade is the final entry point into our Spanish immersion program.
Will my child be confused learning in two languages
No. Children are capable of distinguishing between languages, and immersion students naturally learn when and how to use each language. With time, they become adept at switching between Spanish and English seamlessly
How is faith integrated into the immersion classroom?
Faith is the foundation of all we do at FHCA. Bible lessons, worship, prayer, and spiritual development are all integrated into daily routines and instruction—in both Spanish and English—so students grow in their relationship with Christ while becoming bilingual.
What makes FHCA’s program unique?
Faith Heritage Christian Academy is the first Spanish immersion program of its kind in Celina, Texas.
